Accounting Assistant

About the Role:
The Accounting Assistant is responsible for providing support to the Accounting Department by assisting with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and account reconciliations.
Job responsibilities include the following:
- Input invoices and track payables to ensure payments are processed in a timely manner.
- Match receipts to company credit cards statements, assign GL codes to expenditures, and reconcile.
- Review employee expense reports and enter into accounting system for reimbursement.
- Assist with month end closing, including bank reconciliation and journal entries.
- Work with suppliers to resolve discrepancies on invoices or statements.
- Assist with recording payroll and benefits journal entries.
- Record customer payments and assist with follow-up on past dues receivables.
- Assist with preparation of sales and use tax reports and other financial reports as required.
- Assist with internal audit of payroll and accounting records.
- Perform other related duties as required.
About You:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance or related field; or 3 years of related experience and/or training.
- Experience with EPICOR or an MRP system is a plus.
- Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and use of Microsoft Office suite.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills; detail oriented.
- Must have excellent communication skills and be able to work with all levels of management.
- A high degree of integrity, ethics and professionalism is required; handles confidential information in a discrete manner.
- Must be able to work independently, have excellent time-management skills and be a team player.
