Accounting Assistant

About the Role:

The Accounting Assistant is responsible for providing support to the Accounting Department by assisting with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and account reconciliations.

Job responsibilities include the following:

  • Input invoices and track payables to ensure payments are processed in a timely manner.
  • Match receipts to company credit cards statements, assign GL codes to expenditures, and reconcile.
  • Review employee expense reports and enter into accounting system for reimbursement.
  • Assist with month end closing, including bank reconciliation and journal entries.
  • Work with suppliers to resolve discrepancies on invoices or statements.
  • Assist with recording payroll and benefits journal entries.
  • Record customer payments and assist with follow-up on past dues receivables.
  • Assist with preparation of sales and use tax reports and other financial reports as required.
  • Assist with internal audit of payroll and accounting records.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

About You:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance or related field; or 3 years of related experience and/or training.
  • Experience with EPICOR or an MRP system is a plus.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and use of Microsoft Office suite.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills; detail oriented.
  • Must have excellent communication skills and be able to work with all levels of management.
  • A high degree of integrity, ethics and professionalism is required; handles confidential information in a discrete manner.
  • Must be able to work independently, have excellent time-management skills and be a team player.
