Silanna is a privately held semiconductor company with exciting new products for power conversion. We are looking for a Senior Staff Applications Engineer to become an integral part of the power products group.  Silanna’s Power Products have industry leading metrics of power density, efficiency and switching frequency.

About the Role:

The Director of Design Engineering will be responsible for leading a team of Design and Layout personnel. The manager will have a variety of responsibilities including:

  • Day-to-day leadership of Design and Layout teams
  • Research and development of state-of-the-art analog and mixed signal products for AC/DC and DC/DC markets
  • Collaborate with other Design managers and VP to develop and enhance best practices for all of Design and Layout
  • Develop products to meet performance and cost targets per schedule
  • Travel – up to 10% of your time
  • Work with other cross-functional teams to ensure information flows in both directions effectively. Guidance, Direction and Decision making where authority is necessary for the team
  • Perform as an Active Technical member of the team
  • Performance reviews & Goal setting aligned with VP
  • Forward looking initiatives to drive improved execution
  • Strong interaction with other functional teams including Applications, Technology, Test & Product Engineering, Packaging, and Quality
  • Communication to the local team and Communication to the VP of Engineering

About You:

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • BSEE Required; MSEE or PhD preferred
  • 10+ years leading Design teams
  • 12+ years professional experience in Power Management including analog and mixed signal design
  • Experience serving as a design lead
  • Expertise in analog design and power conversion control and topologies
  • Proven track record taking products from initial definition to mass production
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams
  • Strong Leadership skills
  • Creative and Innovative
  • Strong knowledge of CMOS device physics and fabrication processes
  • Knowledge of 1.8V to 60V processes (up to 700V a plus)
  • Self-motivated individual with proven ability set and meet project schedules
