Systems Validation Engineer – Power Adapters

About the Role:

We are looking for a System Validation Engineer with strong knowledge of Power Adapters, to join our Power Management business unit.

 Duties and Responsibilities

  • As a systems validation engineer, your work will be critical to the success of the digitally controlled AC-DC product line. As such, your responsibilities will include:
    • Validation of pre-silicon and post-silicon internal power management solutions.
      • Maintaining and updating internal python testing platform/scripts.
      • Developing, simulating, and capturing in schematic FPGA + discrete analog implementations of next generation silicon solutions.
      • Developing RTL code to test new features with digital verification simulations and FPGA analysis. Working closely with digital design team to transfer the RTL code into future products.
      • Leading the design validation testplan completion and debugging using our in-house automated testbench.
      • Presenting the results at various company phase-gate points to the rest of the functional groups.
    • Simulation of product performance in applications.
    • Support the development of online simulation and design tools.
    • Support Silanna at technical conferences. Present papers, seminars, and support customer questions at display booths.
    • Provide training for Field Applications Engineers to enhance skills in circuit design, component selection, magnetics design, and design for cost.
  • May require periodic travel for support of customers’ product development.

About You:

Required Skills and Experience

  • BS in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
  • MS in Electrical Engineering preferred
  • Strong understanding of AC-DC power topologies including Flyback, Boost, Forward, and LLC.
  • Circuit simulation using Spice, PSIM, Cadence or similar tools.
  • Strong working knowledge of Python and Verilog.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Comfortable communicating at all levels of internal and external organizations.
    • Must be confident in presenting complicated results and working with multiple functional groups to resolve issues uncovered during validation.
    • Create and present validation test results to multiple functional groups.
