About the Role:

As Design Engineering Program Manager, you will be responsible for working with the entire design and layout team to guide project from start to completion and drive key deliverable to the project. With a background in design and familiar with its multiple stages you will work with team members to build project schedule and drive design deliverables at key project milestones starting at the business review phase through the commercial release of the product. As products are release in multiple semiconductor fabs this individual will be familiar with tape out processes at all fabs and be the key driver for tape-out activities leaving the design lead to focus on final verification of the design. You will work with the director of engineering to manage layout teams activities directly and build plan for contract workers both in layout and design to support project activities. Drive the hiring of temporary staff and drive the screening process. Contract labor will report to you while engaged with the company.

You experience with analog design activities should be deep enough to build first order schedules for block types and have a methodology of project scheduling to work with designer to develop predictive metrics that can be use to improve project scheduling as an on-going continuous improvement effort.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBLITIES:

  1. Drive design and layout teams through all stages of the project
  2. Create schedules for analog, digital and layout teams in the ic development.
  3. Provide status and metrics for all product development efforts going on.
  4. Drive design engineering contributions at key development meetings, project kickoff, detailed design reviews, final design reviews.
  5. Identification of risks/threats to project schedules and mitigating these risks.
  6. Monitor execution to established standards and procedures and collaborate with functional managers on ongoing improvements.

About You:

Bachelor of Science preferred10+ years professional experience in design and design project management.

Direct experience with analog design a must, preferable covering both mixed-signal and power circuits.

Must have the ability to lead multiple programs/projects across multiple locations/time zones.

Significant working knowledge of silicon development.

Proven track record of managing product development and delivering on time.

Demonstrated ability to take initiative, develop and implement new processes.

Ability to listen and simplify complex topics for non-technical audiences and prepare summaries for executives and stakeholders.
