All Silicon 30W USB-PD Reference Design with >21.5 W/inch3 Power Density  

San Diego, CA – December 17th, 2020 – Silanna Semiconductor,The Power Density Leader, today announced a breakthrough 30W USB-PD reference design, achieving 21.6W/inch    3 uncased power density from an all-silicon design for a universal input AC/DC power adapter, utilizing their expanded portfolio of Active Clamp Flyback Controllers (ACF). Silanna Semiconductor focuses on the ultimate power management challenges with the best-in-class power density and efficiency that delight customers with unprecedented BOM savings.SZ1110 ACF PWM controller was announced in April 2020 and currently released as Engineering Samples. The new 30W USB-PD reference design using SZ1110 demonstrates performance results utilizing all-silicon system design know-how.

The 30W USB-PD reference design, supporting 5V/3A, 9V/3A, 15V/2A and 20V/1.5A output voltages, targets a wide range of consumer power adapter applications. The technical sales team has been working directly with customers, demonstrating the advantages of Silanna Semiconductor’s ACF controllers by delivering the best-in-class efficiency and the highest power density with reduced BOM costs from all-silicon designs.

SZ1110 devices are ACF controllers that integrate an adaptive digital PWM controller and the following Ultra High-Voltage (UHV) components: an Active Clamp FET, Active Clamp Gate Driver, and a Startup Regulator. This unprecedented integration level facilitates designing efficient, high power density adapters with low BOM cost to satisfy power-hungry mobile phones, tablets, and other portable electronic devices.

The SZ1110 is fully supported by the Silanna Semiconductor’s Asian Center of Excellence (ACE) design support center. All this, alongside the extensive AC/DC and DC/DC products are available at the demo room at​
